i have a question about the 1st generation iphone?

A friend of mine is thinking about getting the palm pre and selling his 1st generation iphone when his contract ends. If I bought his iphone, would I be able to go to an att and get a pay as you go plan or would I have to sign up for a 2 year contract?

    You’d need to get a contract, and an iPhone contract at that.

    The original 2G iPhone CAN be used as a prepaid device
