A smart-phone isn’t right for me, but PDA’s are going obsolete; any help on what to do to keep work easy?

MrRectifier asked:

I like to keep my devices separate, so the idea of a smart-phone is out of question for me, and I use a PDA (Ipaq) but since they are going obsolete, finding accessories to keep it up and running is getting harder. Can anyone help me with what I can do to work on Microsoft Office on the go without the need of a smart-phone? Thanks.

Does having a smart phone require you to take a data plan?

I am using AT&T phone service in Seattle, Washington. I currently have a simple phone with no data plan. I plan to buy a smart phone but won’t be needing data plan through AT&T (as I plan to use Wifi at work & home).
Would AT&T charge in any case? or in other words, would I be required to take a data plan if I get a smart phone?

Thanks!

I’m about to buy a cell phone and I’ve been considering the Centro. If I do get the Centro then it’d be my first smart phone so I don’t have too many expectations to live up to.

I was leaning towards the HTC Touch Pro as I checked it out at the store and liked it. It also seems to be the best phone out for Sprint now. What is everyone else’s ideas. Besides waiting for Palm Pre.

I currently have the Samsung Rant but I am looking for a little bit more. I like the Motorola Stature i9, Palm Pre (which hasn’t been released), Lg Lotus, and Samsung Instinct. These are just some of the Sprint phones I like. Tell me your opinion on one of the sprint phones. (Please Support Your Answer, Try To Persuade Me)
